Solstice Studio

Alpine Studs #2

$82.00 Sold out

The Alpine Stud is comprised of Kingman Turquoise and sterling silver. The earrings come with a sturdy silver backing.

ABOUT THE STONES: The Kingman turquoise mine, operated by the Colbaugh family in Arizona, is the last remaining commercially producing mine in the United States. Kingman Turquoise is known for its beautiful sky blue color and produces many variations of blue Turquoise. The Kingman Turquoise mine also produces green Turquoise from the Turquoise Mountain side of the mine. Evidence suggests turquoise was mined in the surrounding areas dating as far back as 600 AD. Tools like stone hammers were found in the ancient trenches and tunnels running through the hills in 1962.

Note to Buyers: All of Solstice Studio items are handmade and hand-finished. Each piece is one of a kind and you may notice some imperfections. These imperfections give handcrafted items their innate soulful character and appeal.

The evolution of your jewelry over time is a natural and beautiful process, creating a unique bond between you and your cherished pieces. To preserve the beauty of your sterling silver and turquoise jewelry while embracing its evolving nature, we have curated this care guide to assist you in maintaining quality for generations to come.

Tarnish and Uniqueness:

  • Tarnishing, a natural process for sterling silver, adds character and depth to your jewelry over time. The oils from your skin may infuse into the silver and turquoise, subtly altering their hues. This natural patina is what makes each piece truly yours, a testament to your journey with the jewelry. However, if you would like to avoid too much tarnish, protect your jewelry from harsh chemicals, such as perfumes, and lotions.

Individuality in Change:

  • Embrace the evolving colors and textures as your jewelry interacts with your lifestyle and environment. The personalized patina that develops is a testament to the unique relationship between you and your treasured jewelry, making each piece exclusive to your experiences.

Cleaning Sterling Silver:

  • Gently wipe your sterling silver jewelry with a soft, lint-free polishing cloth after each wear to remove oils and dirt, helping to maintain its shine.
  • For tougher tarnish, use a mild silver polishing solution or a specially formulated silver cleaning cloth. Avoid harsh abrasives that could scratch the surface.

Storage:

  • Store your sterling silver and turquoise jewelry pieces in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Consider storing in the individual jewelry pouches or soft cloth bags that come in each Solstice order to prevent scratching and tarnishing.
