Solstice Studio

Alpine Studs #1

$160.00 Sold out

The Alpine Stud is comprised of Tyrone Turquoise and sterling silver. The earrings come with a sturdy silver backing.

ABOUT THE STONES: Tyrone turquoise is mined outside of Silver City in the southwest area of New Mexico. As with many turquoise mines, its original purpose was copper mining. The mine hasn't produced any turquoise since the 80's, when Phelps Dodge changed its method of mining copper to the process of crushing and acid wash which destroys the Turquoise. Because of this, what is available today is from personal collections, reflecting the rarity and price of Tyrone turquoise.

Note to Buyers: All of Solstice Studio items are handmade and hand-finished. Each piece is one of a kind and you may notice some imperfections. These imperfections give handcrafted items their innate soulful character and appeal.

The evolution of your jewelry over time is a natural and beautiful process, creating a unique bond between you and your cherished pieces. To preserve the beauty of your sterling silver and turquoise jewelry while embracing its evolving nature, we have curated this care guide to assist you in maintaining quality for generations to come.

Tarnish and Uniqueness:

  • Tarnishing, a natural process for sterling silver, adds character and depth to your jewelry over time. The oils from your skin may infuse into the silver and turquoise, subtly altering their hues. This natural patina is what makes each piece truly yours, a testament to your journey with the jewelry. However, if you would like to avoid too much tarnish, protect your jewelry from harsh chemicals, such as perfumes, and lotions.

Individuality in Change:

  • Embrace the evolving colors and textures as your jewelry interacts with your lifestyle and environment. The personalized patina that develops is a testament to the unique relationship between you and your treasured jewelry, making each piece exclusive to your experiences.

Cleaning Sterling Silver:

  • Gently wipe your sterling silver jewelry with a soft, lint-free polishing cloth after each wear to remove oils and dirt, helping to maintain its shine.
  • For tougher tarnish, use a mild silver polishing solution or a specially formulated silver cleaning cloth. Avoid harsh abrasives that could scratch the surface.

Storage:

  • Store your sterling silver and turquoise jewelry pieces in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Consider storing in the individual jewelry pouches or soft cloth bags that come in each Solstice order to prevent scratching and tarnishing.
